The pornography industry generates fifty-seven billion dollars in revenue world-wide. The industry generates twelve billion in the US alone. Every family in society (and in the church) is touched by this epidemic, either through involvement themselves, a close or extended family member, or a friend of the family. For many, they do not know where to go to find help, or how to begin helping in an effective way. This seminar will help begin to equip you to minister to your church in the area of sexual addiction. It will also provide a safe, non-threatening place for people who struggle with sexual addiction and their spouses to begin the process of restoration, without being singled out.
“Hope Restored” is hosted by “Recovery Alaska,” a ministry of Anchorage Baptist Temple and “Prodigals of Alaska.” Recovery Alaska and Prodigals of Anchorage have been ministering to men struggling with sexual addiction and their wives for ten years.
Some of the scheduled topics for the seminar are: A Biblical Approach to Sexual Addiction, What Is Sexual Addiction, Co-Dependency and Enabling the Spouse, Boundaries, Accountability-Developing A Support Group, Developing A Safety Plan, What About the Kids?, Developing A Sexual Offender Guideline For Your Church, Overcoming Common Thinking Errors, and others. The seminar will begin Friday, October 3, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. and then on Saturday, October 4, 2008 from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. We will serve a continental breakfast on Saturday morning. Lunch on Saturday is not included, but you will be able to enjoy a meal at a local restaurant of your choosing.
Early registration by September 8, 2008 is $59 (single) $89 (couple). After September 8 (single) $69, (couple) $99. Seminar price at the door is $79 (single), $109 (couple). This includes registration, and seminar materials. Additional resources will be available at the Book Table at the conference.
The battle with sexual addiction is real. Through God’s grace and power we can see “Hope Restored” in the lives of those who struggle with sexual addiction.
